The Bard Hangover and an Inquisitive stranger

A man in love asked me once,
How can you not see the flowers around?
No fragrance, I said, was strong enough;
Besides most were swarmed by bees abound.

No blink of eyes till now
Could part me from my heart
Nor did any shy smile,
Manage to make me skip a beat.

He said scared, you are. to take the plunge
In the ethereal sea of love,
I said, Of love, you talk my friend
As if a human trait to which must divinity bow.

Subliminal to some it might well be,
And it won’t spend my pride to cede.
A fair game it is, however, not,
Too many warriors lost by deceit.

Too many Romeos were beheaded at altars,
Too many a Troys flooded weeping,
Too many a page were spent at bars
About battles that lovers ended up losing.

So cheap is not Orion’s life
To be a loony poet’s muse.
The soft hearted shy away from battles
I am waiting for the right war to lose.
